"Man, oh man, what a RUSH I get from this CD! Some music causes my foot to tap, but this CD makes my foot pump like a car engine piston while I reach for the air guitar. WOOHOO I'm 25 again! (Whoa - got to calm down here...) Alex Gunia leads the band on guitar while keyboardist Mat Junior was recording engineer as well (fantastic job too). Bassist Arnd Geise and drummer Jost Nickel (from Triton) keep time like an atomic clock and kick the music into high gear. Influences range from Herbie Hancock and Return To Forever to Deep Purple and Metallica. In fact, if you set your CD player for 'Intro Scan', you might think this is metal music. But just wait, they veer off into something different every 16 bars. Almost every song cruises through 5 or 6 different styles of jazz and rock. On 'Apple's Blues', after a 90 second intro, drummer and bassist kick a simple groove so hard - I swear to God - I actually get goosebumps! This is the connection with the audience that every musician strives for.
This is one of my two reference CD's (the other is 'Return of the Brecker Brothers') that I use to test new stereo components. It is recorded and produced perfectly and really brings a good stereo to life with a stunning and exquisitely defined soundstage. Every instrument is clearly, distinctly heard."
